Fox Chase Cancer Center's "Summer of Strength" Event Offers Free Cancer Care Information

PHILADELPHIA (May 10, 2000) -- Fox Chase Cancer Center kicks off the first month of summer with a free educational fair called "Summer of Strength." The event, for patients and their caregivers, is on Thursday, June 1st, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Center's courtyard. A free barbecue lunch and summer giveaways highlight the day's events.

"Summer of Strength" will provide valuable information to help patients cope with the adverse effects of cancer treatment, including anemia and fatigue. They can also get free information about other Fox Chase services such as complementary medicine, nutrition counseling, pastoral care, social work, nursing research and rehabilitation. Patients and caregivers can also attend mini-seminars presented by various health care professionals throughout the day.

"Summer of Strength" is a free event and is open to all cancer patients, families and their caregivers. For additional information, please call 215-728-2580.
