Fox Chase Names Kenneth P. Patrick, MD, Director of the Hospitalist Program
PHILADELPHIA (August 10, 2010) – Kenneth P. Patrick, MD - Director, Hospitalist Service, Internal Medicine, has joined Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Department of Medicine as director of the hospitalist program. The hospitalist team is dedicated to delivering compassionate, comprehensive medical care to all hospitalized patients.
“I joined the hospitalists at Fox Chase Cancer Center to provide the highest quality medical care to patients admitted to the Center,” Patrick says.
In addition to his expertise in hospital medicine, Patrick has a solid background in critical care. Before coming to Fox Chase, he served as Director of the Intensive Care Unit at Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia.
“As a member of the hospitalist team, I will enhance the outstanding expertise of the Center’s surgeons, medical oncologists, and medical subspecialists on behalf of all of our patients,” says Patrick.
Patrick earned his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and subsequently completed a residency in family practice at Chestnut Hill Hospital. He also completed a fellowship in critical care medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York.
Throughout his career, Patrick has won numerous awards. Chestnut Hill Hospital has awarded him the Golden Apple Teaching Award five times and their Physician of the Year Award twice. Most recently, he earned the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Dean’s Teaching Award in 2009.
Patrick is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the Society of Hospital Medicine.
