Thomas J. Galloway, MD, Joins Fox Chase's Department of Radiation Oncology

PHILADELPHIA (August 12, 2010) – Thomas J. Galloway, MD - Attending Physician, Radiation Oncology, has joined Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Department of Radiation Oncology.  He specializes in treating patients with skin cancer, as well as head and neck cancers, including mouth, tongue, tonsils, pharynx, and larynx.

“I enjoy working in close collaboration with physicians of different disciplines,” Galloway says. “At a place like Fox Chase, I get to interact daily with other experts who are similarly dedicated to one thing—treating patients with cancer.  This truly allows the Fox Chase team to provide the best possible care for our patients.”

After earning his M.D. at the University of Florida College of Medicine, Galloway completed an internship in internal medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C.  He is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the Radiological Society of North America, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Galloway’s work has been published in the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, and Physics, and he has made numerous presentations on topics such as post-mastectomy radiation therapy, gastric carcinoma, and hormone therapy for prostate cancer.  His work also includes research on cervix cancer therapy, breast conserving therapy, and radiation-induced second tumors.

Fox Chase Cancer Center, part of the Temple University Health System, is one of the leading cancer research and treatment centers in the United States.
