The event will help patients and caregivers find emotional support and information as they face lung cancer and its treatments

PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 28, 2014)—Fox Chase Cancer Center, the Lung Cancer Alliance and 6ABC Consumer Reporter Nydia Han, join forces to host a FREE event designed to help patients and caregivers find emotional support and information as they face lung cancer and its treatments. The event, Shine a Light on Lung Cancer, will take place on Thursday, November 6, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., in the Fox Chase Cancer Center Cafeteria (333 Cottman Avenue in Philadelphia, Pa).

Shine a Light will provide hope, inspiration and support for those impacted by lung cancer and those at risk—from the newly diagnosed to survivors to loved ones to those simply wanting to help, including health-care professionals. Guests will hear from Fox Chase health-care professionals about the treatment of lung cancer, management of side effects and the importance of building a support system of friends, caregivers, health-care professionals and counselors to help patients through their journey with lung cancer.

In addition to hearing from health-care professionals, guests will meet Nydia Han, 6ABC Consumer Reporter and co-anchor of Action News Sunday Mornings. At the event, Nydia will share her experiences as her mother confronted lung cancer.

The event is free and open to all. Registration opens at 5:30 p.m. and parking at Fox Chase is free.
