About Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is a type of cancer that forms in cells in the outer layer of the skin (epidermis). It is most likely to be found on parts of the body that are exposed to the sun.

At Fox Chase Cancer Center, we can assess and treat all forms of skin cancer. In addition to basal cell skin cancer, squamous cell skin cancer, melanoma, and Merkel cell carcinoma, Fox Chase skin cancer specialists have extensive experience diagnosing and treating other rare types of skin cancer, such as atypical fibroxanthoma, dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, primary cutaneous lymphoma, and Kaposi’s sarcoma.
