ASSOCIATE CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER

Dr. Mgbojikwe comes to Fox Chase from Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she served as Clinical Director of the Division of Hospital Medicine, Medical Director for four medical-surgical units, and as the Medical co-director of the Medicine Progressive Care Unit, an intermediate level of care unit. At the Johns Hopkins Health System level, Mgbojikwe served as the Director for Acute Virtual Care Strategy, with a focus on Hospital at Home and other innovations around the delivery of acute care in nontraditional settings. She also served as an Assistant Professor of medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Dr. Mgbojikwe earned her medical degree in 2014 from Howard University College of Medicine, where she received over twenty-five academic honors and awards. She went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she also served as a clinical fellow at Harvard Medical School. She thereafter joined the Division of Hospital Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she was actively involved in healthcare leadership, including serving as a subject matter expert for Johns Hopkins Hospital at Home executive team, developing curriculum and training programs for COVID and non-COVID care, teaching and mentoring medical residents and young faculty, and much more. She is also the recipient of numerous awards, including by not limited to the Certificate of Excellence for Outstanding Patient Care from Johns Hopkins Hospital, as well as the prestigious Society of Hospital Medicine Physician of the Year Award. Through all of this, Dr. Mgbojikwe has not left the bedside, and she remains a practicing Hospitalist, focusing on the provision of excellent quality of care to all her patients.

Dr. Mgbojikwe’s focus includes acute care, health system operations, innovation and strategy. She currently serves as the Associate Chief Medical Officer and as an Associate Professor of Medicine at Fox Chase Cancer Center, continuing her passion for program building, strategy development, innovation and care alignment, with a focus on making care easier for patients and colleagues alike.
