Treatment Philosophy

I have wanted to be a nurse ever since I can remember. Life experiences seemed to direct me to that profession. There are so many opportunities in nursing. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Holy Family College, now Holy Family University, in 1999. I began my career as a charge nurse in a nursing home, but my focus has always been cancer research. I was very fortunate in 2001 to start a very different nursing role as a clinical research coordinator in the Clinical Trials office at Fox Chase Cancer Center. This allowed me to work with research and cancer as well as continuing to interact directly with patients. I became a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP). My time in the Clinical Trials office taught me so much about cancer research and how far we have come in the advancement of treatment for cancer.

In 2014 I had the unique opportunity to join the Navigation team as the Genitourinary (GU) Nurse Navigator for Surgery. Assisting the patients in getting an appointment, being there for them, answering their questions, blends the experiences that I have had so far in my profession. This role has continued to provide me with learning opportunities and allowed me to add to the knowledge and skills I have already developed since my nursing career began. I am proud to be part of not only the GU team, but my fellow navigators as well and am grateful to be working with a group that has such various backgrounds and experiences.
